I was able to download the legacy Nvidia drivers here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-7182.html

I ran the installation script and edited the xorg.conf file as outlined in the README, namely changed the driver to "nvidia" and added> Load "glx"
